I really do think most of what has become of the fandom is grrms fault for simply just not having published the ending. So much of what fandom considers to be canon (fanon) isn’t even canon because those who’ve stayed and made a name for themselves here just have their facts wrong and those who do know the truth of it all left because why stay in a fandom where you’re bullied for believing the source material? It’s ridiculous (sorry do NOT mean to vent in your askbox) but it’s just so annoying what this place has become. Saw a post with hundreds of notes explaining why Dany wasn’t sold to drogo / wasn’t a child bride slave and I just… where is the reading comprehension in this fandom

Us not having the final two (?) books in the series is definitely a big part of how fandom acts (+ the show ending) and the longer we go without them, the more fanon people create. I can't place the full blame on George though cause this is just...how fandoms are. George could release TWOW and ADOS tomorrow and people would write essays on how George doesn't understand his characters or the story he wrote. People just have a sense of entitlement when it comes to stories they consume and think their personal feelings toward the story are more important than the author's intentions. George can't control the level (*cough* lack *cough*) of reading comprehension in his fanbase. Even when he outright says something that contradicts fanon, people's reaction is to argue with him instead of changing their opinions 😭. He could write "the sky is blue" and they would come back with "here's why I think he meant the sky is red". It's annoying, it's frustrating, and it's unfortunately something that's not going to be solved by the books coming out. We just have to hope the rest of the books are released so that the people who actually like the story can enjoy it

Today is the last reveals post for the Captain America/Iron Man Remix Madness 2017. Please note, remixes will remain anonymous until after everything is revealed, so please keep from revealing what you created until creator reveals on the 26th.

We have a discussion and guessing post up for everyone to discuss remixes, remix techniques and guess creators on livejournal and imzy. Also try your hand at guessing which relay work is a remix of which other relay work in the chain, because we’ll be publishing them out of order!
